Frontier Bank was founded in 1932 by a group of community leaders who decided to open a business in their own town at a time when banks throughout the country were closing. The bank opened offices in Inwood, Alvord, Doon, George and Little Rock. As the banking industry laws changed, the bank offices in Inwood, Alvord, Doon and George were sold. New opportunities continued to provide stability for Frontier Bank customers. United Federal Bank in Rock Rapids was purchased in 1994. In 1996, Frontier Bank opened a branch in Sioux Falls, SD, and in 2006 opened a branch in George, IA. Consistent with its history, a board of local directors governs Frontier Bank. In the tradition established by the initial board of directors, the current board is dedicated to the continuation of independent, community banking with local decisions for local customers. While Frontier has spread this brand of banking into new communities, the headquarters is located in Rock Rapids, Iowa. We invite you to join us. |
